This Privacy Policy explains how Lang Enterprises, Inc ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Fortune Finder mobile application and this website (together, the "Service").
Fortune Finder is a location-based treasure hunting game. Because the game is built around where you physically are, location information is central to how it works. This policy explains exactly what that means.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Account information — your email address, password (stored only by our authentication provider, never in readable form by us), and the display name you choose.
- Profile details — any optional information you add to your profile.
- Payment information — when you add funds or request a payout, payment details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers or bank credentials.
- Support and bug reports — messages you send us, which may include a description of the problem and technical details about your device.
Information collected automatically
- Precise location — with your permission, we collect your device's GPS location while you use the app, including in the background when you have an active hunt, so clues can appear near you and so we can confirm you reached a clue or prize location.
- Gameplay data — hunts you join, clues you collect, puzzle progress, wins, timers, and cooldowns.
- Wallet and transaction history — balances, entry fees, Play Pass purchases, prize credits, and withdrawal requests.
- Device and diagnostic information — device model, operating system version, app version, and crash or error reports.
- Anti-fraud signals — information used to detect location spoofing, duplicate accounts, and other manipulation of gameplay or prizes.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate the game — placing clues, tracking progress, running timers, and determining winners.
- To maintain your account, wallet balance, and transaction history.
- To process payments, prize awards, and withdrawal requests.
- To detect and prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse.
- To respond to your support requests and fix problems you report.
- To send you notifications about hunts, prizes, and account activity.
- To comply with legal obligations, including any tax reporting required for prizes.
3. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these situations:
- Service providers — companies that provide infrastructure and services on our behalf, including our cloud database and authentication provider (Google Firebase), mapping services (Google Maps), and our payment processor. These providers may only use the information to perform services for us.
- Other players — your display name may be visible to other players, for example when you win a hunt or participate in a team. Your email address, precise location, and wallet balance are not shown to other players.
- Participating businesses — when you collect a clue at a partner business, that business may receive aggregate visit counts. We do not share your identity or contact information with them.
- Legal reasons — when we believe disclosure is required by law, or is necessary to protect our rights, the safety of users, or to investigate fraud.
- Business transfers — if the Service is acquired or merged, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data Retention
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active, and afterward for as long as needed to meet legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations. Location history associated with gameplay is retained only as long as needed to operate and audit hunts.
5. Your Choices and Rights
- Location permission — grant or revoke it at any time in your device settings.
- Notifications — turn push notifications off in your device settings.
- Access, correction, and deletion — you may request a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Email us at the address below. Note that we may need to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations, and deleting your account may forfeit any remaining wallet balance where permitted by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We honor these rights where they apply.
6. Children's Privacy
Fortune Finder is not intended for children. The Service is available only to users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it and close the account.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, authenticated access to our database, and server-side access rules that restrict each account to its own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affecting your data occurs.
8. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States, and information is stored and processed there. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you consent to that transfer and processing.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will provide notice in the app.
